53rd chapter of Saint Vincent brotherhood

February 12, 2004

The wine-growers of Visan « Saint Vincent » brotherhood celebrated their 53rd chapter on Saturday, January 24th, 2004 Faithful to the tradition since 1475, the wine-growers of Visan « Saint Vincent » brotherhood honoured their patron saint by celebrating the winter chapter of their brotherhood on Saturday, January 24th 2004. At 5.30 p.m, several jurys composed of professional wine-tasters and wine-lovers elected the best cuvées which were going to become, either « Saint Vincent » cuvée : 12 to 18 months ageing into oak casks in the beautiful « Saint Vincent » cellar, or « Cuvée du Marot » : 15 000 magnums cellared into Visan castle cellars during one year and taken out on the day of the summer chapter of « Saint Vincent » brotherhood, the second Saturday of July. During the wine-tasting, the painter Marianne Bonzom-Chollet collected the tasters'feelings and sensations to make a beautiful picture which is now exhibited at the cellar. After the wine-tasting, the ceremony of introduction took place around 7 p.m and was followed with a dancing-dinner.
